Chupps is open footwear built without compromise.
That means you don't choose between comfort and design. Or between design and a product that was made thoughtfully. We never believed one good thing should come at the cost of another.
You just pick the pair.
We started because the gap was obvious.
India had no shortage of slides and sandals, but nothing in the middle ground felt like it belonged there. Not cheap enough to be disposable, not expensive enough to justify cutting corners on comfort, not honest enough to earn its price. We built Chupps into that space.
Every year, an estimated 22 billion pairs of shoes end up in landfill globally. Most are made from mixed materials, rubber, synthetics, plastic, that take decades, sometimes centuries, to break down. Nobody thought about the end when they made them. We did.
Every pair of Chupps is built on BioFoam powered by TruZero™️, which breaks down within 24 months after use. That's not a marketing line. It's a design decision made before the first sample was cut. The cushioning is real. The heel support is real. The design is intentional, no decorative excess, nothing that doesn't earn its place. Structured Play, Honest Form.
Available across India through general trade, modern trade, and online, Chupps has found its way into
thousands of everyday lives.
Chupps was started by Yashesh Mukhi, who grew up in a business family with deep roots in Indian footwear. His family was Nike's first regional partner in India. He studied in the US, built and exited a women's fashion brand, led an 80+ store retail operation, and came back with a clear read on what was missing.
He's also been vegan for over seven years. That's not a footnote. It's the lens through which Chupps was built, the belief that what you choose to put on your body, and what that choice leaves behind, both matter. Most people think about a purchase at the moment of buying. Yashesh thinks about what happens after. That thinking is why end-of-life is an engineering decision at Chupps, not an afterthought.
